I recently met Matt Phair whose father, Joe, was in VP-33. Like Dad, Joe was a talented artist and I’ve been treated to quite a few of his wartime sketches. Matt hopes to eventually develop his own book highlighting the artwork. I’ll be sure to let you know when something is published.
Matt and I have talked by phone on several occasions, and he recently sent me this awesome photo of survivors in life rafts that was part of his dad’s collection. It really says it all.
